Don't expect to find anything here...
Got the account mostly so I could respond to friends who have disallowed anonymous posting. (Hey, nonny nonny mouse...)

After all, if I could muster the belief that I had anything to say that was Worth Publishing, I'd either get back to maintaining my own website or find a market.

The handle is Dar Williams' fault. While thanking the volunteers at the end of a performance she couldn't remember my name, and referred to me simply as "the sound dude".

You don't exactly encourage anyone to treat you other than anonymously when you give so little information about yourself in your profile. If I didn't already know who you are, I might be able to figure it out given your interests in APO, concertina (or should that be concertinae? the instrument(s), not the event), and sound reinforcement, in addition to filk and M.A.S.S. F.I.L.C., but few (even filkers) who are not themselves members of either APO or M.A.S.S. F.I.L.C. are likely to have enough puzzle pieces.

OK, having an account gets around the "no anonymous posters" checkbox, but look at the number of people who have friended you. May I suggest coming out from under your rock, sir? One of your userpics could be recognizably you, or you could link to your somewhat moribund web site (which I host, I believe), or admit to one or more of your roles (though I think you seek to be deposed from one of them and have distanced yourself from another).

Folks who know me can probably recognize me (or can ping me and ask). Folks who don't ... well, y'know, I'm just as happy if they focus on what I have to say rather than who is saying it.

I'm not particularly concerned with playing the number-of-Friends game, or indeed in being identified. At least, not with this account. Which is also why the account name is non-identifying.

When it matters, I'll identify. Otherwise, treat me as a speaking rock.

I'm Joe K. Since I have some reservations regarding LJ, I'd rather keep a certain degree of firewall between this ID and my other online activities; hence the circumlocutions. (Though if you look carefully, you will notice my signature glyph embedded in the graphic.)
